Why Aster?

We chose the name Aster because of its special meaning. Aster means star, which inspired the name of a type of daisy with bright rayed flowers. At Aster, we describe a hospice patient not by their illness, but by the fullness of their life. Each patient is a "star of their own story", with a family, and a spirit that shines uniquely. They are mothers, fathers, friends, teachers, dreamers, and givers—individuals who have spent their lives creating memories, nurturing love, and shaping the world around them.

Why Choose Us?

We are nurse-owned and led. We understand our patients' needs on a deeper level and approach every situation with empathy and expertise. Let’s turn back the clock to how hospice was twenty years ago.

Many years ago, when my family was navigating the difficult journey of caring for my great grandmother, Tina Rowe provided incredible support and guidance. Even though my grandmother wasn't under her direct care, she went above and beyond to advise us on her needs and help us make the best decisions for her comfort and dignity.

Her compassion, patience, and expertise brought our family peace during an overwhelming time. Every nurse, social worker, and staff member we interacted with showed genuine care and respect--not just for my grandmother, but for all of us. I will always be grateful for their kindness and the way they helped us understand what to expect and how to care for her with love and confidence.

I highly recommend Tina Rowe and Aster Hospice to any family facing similar circumstances. Their guidance made all the difference. Thank you Tina for all your loving care and support!

From beginning to "end" the level of care, kindness and concern was exceptional and impressive. I truly didn't know where to begin with a hospice service and Aster not only educated me but was with me 100
%every step of the way.

At such a difficult time my family and I were supported on every level. Not just patient care but family care. Tina Rowe runs a tight ship and you can count on her!

I couldn't be more excited, as i notice a familiar face, at a new hospice, in Ventura; Aster Hospice Being run by none other then, Tina Rowe, RN I met her years ago, as a young caregiver, with one of my longest, clients. I cared for the wife and soon her husband too. When we needed hospice, I met Tina, as she was working for the hospice that the hospital had recommended, after my client's fall. I'd say, after our first meeting, both my clients and I, were fulfilled ‍ We both had hope for their future, and excited, to say the least. I had way less to stress about and more quality time with my clients, who I considered my family. After their passing, I always searched for Tina, when hospice was needed, for my clients. As amazing as she was, she was working for other people. Knowing now, that she is RUNNING her OWN hospice, is EVERYTHING. I know, her heart and ENTIRE being, is in this. This is a hospice, run for the RIGHT reasons; care, care, and MORE CARE. From the smallest to the biggest, your concern is her priority. LETS GO ASTER HOSPICE. I cant wait to age‼

So compassionate and professional! This is a very caring and conscientious place. Everyone seemed deeply dedicated to their clients/patients. Tina Rowe there was an excellent and calming guide during a time that was very stressful seeing our loved family member in such declining health. Although my experience here was with hospice, I found this place educational and supportive and peaceful. When the need arises, I highly recommend Aster Health.
